Outcome? Salvation!

This is a reading of 1 Peter 1:3-9 from ESV. I have adjusted pronouns and eliminated a few phrases. Do you believe in JESUS?…

Why Grannies?

Jesus talks a lot about planting seeds. That’s exactly what my grandmothers did. They planted “Jesus seeds” in me.
There was always “a little something” about Jesus at their tables or at bedtime, when I stayed all night. They each took me to church functions with them if one occurred during my summer visit.
I lost my Grandma Birdie when I was 13, so it was Grandma Chloe who kept Jesus close during my teens. We had no Jesus in my immediate family – no church, no Bible. It was all about being a good, honest person, but there was no God. My Grandmas planted “Jesus seeds” with love and caring.
As with all seeds, once they’re in the dark soil long enough, with the right conditions “above ground”, they’ll sprout and grow. My Grandmas were gardeners, growing flowers and vegetables. When it came to me, they planted “Jesus seeds”. They were always there with their nurturing, loving advice, embellished with “Jesus says”.
Grannies can offer a special touch like none other. Let’s all be special, gardening Grannies!

Bible Verses

And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
