Jesus, Only You
In your daily time with God, I’m sure you’ve found favorite authors and speakers. Do you know of Sarah Young and her “Jesus Calling” material? My introduction to Sarah was her devotional, “Jesus Calling”, which I won as a door prize in 2012. Her daily messages changed my relationship with Jesus – it brought HIM closer to me. Since then I have given several copies as gifts. Each lady has had the same reaction, “How does He know? He is talking just to me!”
In 2015, I purchased Sarah’s devotional, “Jesus Today”. I enjoyed it for two years, then set it aside. I got it out last year and kept it in my daily material again this year. Today I share with you Sarah’s writing for October 17th. It speaks to me as I go through new Toastmaster challenges as well as this Continuing Covid Craziness.
This perspective, following Jesus up a difficult mountain, can be shared with any family member of any age with only slight adjustments. I encourage you to share this with believers and non-believers. Follow The Leader on the great adventure HE has planned for you!
From “Jesus Today” (c) 2012, October 17; Matt 17:1-2 NKJV, Hab 3:19 AMP, Philip 3:20-21:
“Be willing to keep climbing this high mountain with ME. Sometimes you look back nostalgically as a long-ago stage of your journey. You yearn )for that easier, less complicated time in your life. But I want you to recognize it for what it was: a base camp. It was a time and place of preparation for the arduous adventure ahead of you.
The mountain you are climbing is exceedingly high; the top of it is hidden in clouds. So it’s impossible for you to know how far up those heights you have come – and how far you have yet to go. However, the higher you go, the better the view you have.
Although each day is a challenge and you often feel weary, take time to enjoy the magnificent scenery! This journey with ME is training you to see from a heavenly perspective that transcends your circumstances. The higher up the mountain you climb, the steeper and more challenging your path becomes – but the greater your adventure as well. Remember that the higher you go with ME, the closer you get to your ultimate goal – the heights of heaven!”
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
Grannies and Grannies-to-Be, Jesus makes no conditions, exceptions or exclusions. Jesus offers, encourages, and invites us to: Follow Him, The Leader
