Share Him Freely
Joyce Meyer tells a story of a woman who spoke to her at a conference several years ago. The woman’s story was that she thought that Joyce had lost her anointing — the woman was getting nothing from the teachings of Joyce! When the woman prayed about it, Holy Spirit told her that she was too full. She had taken in many of Joyce’s teachings, and many lessons on God’s Word, but she had not given out any of them — she had not shared. God told her that she had to give in order to get.
Joyce has a similar story about her own life — a time when God told her to share His Word more.
I was reminded of these stories on September 23, while reading the lesson in Streams InThe Desert Devotional, page 361.
“If you will give the blessing you have received, planning your life around greater service and being a blessing to those around you, then you will quickly find that the Holy Spirit is with you. He will bestow blessings to you for service, giving you all He can trust you to give away to others.”
The lesson talks about the special gift each of us has – that special knowledge, insight, or talent that we can share, thereby enriching the lives of others.
The lesson continued, “…it is possible to keep our hearts to open to the touch of the Holy Spirit that He may [use] them as He chooses, while we quietly wait on the pathway of His service.”
The poem for the day included the words of Jesus from Matthew 10:8, as He sent the disciples out to teach.
“Freely you have received, freely give.”
Oh yes, Grannies. He has given so much to us over the years, we have so much to share. Share His love, His peace, and His JOY with your family. Help them to become richer, stronger, and closer to Jesus.
