Toastmasters Where Leaders Are Made! Toastmaster founder, Dr. Ralph Smedley, once said, “Inside each of us is a treasure, just waiting to be discovered.”  For the past 96 years, millions of people have been proving him correct — yours truly, included. As soon as I finished my first ten Toastmaster speeches and “graduated” in 2001, I had business cards professionally designed and printed.  I was going to be a motivational speaker!  I was so excited! I ordered a subscription to National Speaker Association magazine.  I was “shooting for the stars”. After reading a few articles in the NSA magazine, and participating in a few speech contests, I realized…it would be many moons before I would even be asked to speak for free! Fly Me With Pride! On June 2, 2015, I wrapped myself in my American Flag that flies on my front porch, Memorial Day through Veterans Day each year. It was a Toastmaster meeting.  The Toastmaster of the Day introduced me… Patriotism is defined as love for, or devotion to, one’s country. Put the flag together with Patriotism and you have Lynne Bradley-Horan, asking you to “Fly Me With Pride”. I AM THE FLAG! THIS IS “MY” STORY! Ladies and Gentlemen, you know me as “The American Flag”. I’m also called, “Old Glory”, “The Stars & Stripes”, and “The Star Spangled Banner” Oh, and Spangled I am! 50 brilliant stars!  Each signaling Democracy!  Justice!  Freedom! I was created in 1777! People, Time, God & Toastmasters I have something to say, but I can get no one to listen!!  Maybe they’ll READ it. It takes the right people, at the right time, and God will make it happen! In this case, it was two Toastmasters, one who wanted to blog, and one who just started his own business as a website host, plus, of course, the “chance meeting” at which God took over! Upon completion of my Toastmaster Competent Communicator award in 2001, I had business cards printed!  I was going to be a motivational speaker!
