Follow The Leader

Jesus, Only You In your daily time with God, I’m sure you’ve found favorite authors and speakers.  Do you know of Sarah Young and her “Jesus Calling” material?  My introduction to Sarah was her devotional, “Jesus Calling”, which I won as a door prize in 2012.  Her daily messages changed my relationship with Jesus – it brought HIM closer to me.  Since then I have given several copies as gifts.  Each lady has had the same reaction, “How does He know?  He is talking just to me!” In 2015, I purchased Sarah’s devotional, “Jesus Today”.  I enjoyed it for two years, then set it aside.  I got it out last year and kept it in my daily material again this year.  Today I share with you Sarah’s writing for October 17th.  It speaks to me as I go through new Toastmaster challenges as well as this Continuing Covid Craziness.  This

Dare

To Hug Him With Your Heart Happy or sad, good or bad – Dare to say what would Jesus say. Dare to do what Jesus would do! “Dare to trust Him!  Dare to follow Him!  Then discover that the forces that blocked your progress and threatened your life become, at His command, the very materials He uses to build your street of freedom.”  F. B. Meyer Have you come to the Red Sea place in your life, Where, in spite of all you can do,There is no way out, there is no way back, There is no other way but through? Then wait on the Lord with a trust serene Till the night of your fear is gone; He will send the wind, He will heap the floods, When He says to your soul, “Move on”. And His hand will lead you through – clear through – Ere the watery

Help! Save Me!

My First Responder I woke up feeling punk.  It was Monday. It was gloomy. I didn’t want to get out of bed. I tried to snuggle deeper into the covers — instead a dark cloud covered me!  I felt unworthy – a total failure. I listed the reasons:  I can’t stick to my diet plan, I can’t take time to clear off my garden, I need to rake leaves, my best friend is having issues – I want to help her but I don’t know how. Eventually I got up, made coffee, fed the cats, got my breakfast ready, turned on Joyce. Oh no!  I didn’t have God Time yesterday!!  I now have TWO DAYS of E. Stanley Jones to trudge through (sometimes he is difficult for me to understand). After Joyce, I brought my studies into the kitchen and opened Mornings With Jesus. On Sunday’s page, Alice Thompson wrote

God in the USA

Our Christian God Dr. Robert Jeffress, Pastor of the First Baptist Church Dallas, presented a comprehensive message on the roots of Christianity of, in, and for the United States of America. Televised 6/28/20. The Scripture for his message is Psalm 33:12 — Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance. “God is no respecter of people or nations. The nation that reverences God, will be blessed by God. The nation that rejects God, will be rejected by God. The choice is ours.”  Dr. Jeffress The following is taken directly from his message – these are his words.  To Dr. Jeffress I say, Thank You for doing all of this research for me!  My comments are noted with **. America was founded as a Christian Nation Historical Evidence — Spiritual Beliefs of the Founders: 52 of the 55 men @ Constitutional Convention were Orthodox

Living Water

Outside, Inside, Within We moved onto our “farmette” nearly thirty years ago.  Our well was new at that time.  My husband, Thomas The Big Guy, has been saying we need a new well.  Why?  “The old one will give out soon.  It’s too shallow.  Etc.”  In July, 2019, I called a well driller; he came right out, investigated, looked us up on the county website, and called back – they’d be here soon. They finally showed up to begin drilling at the end of August.  It was a rainy August that year, but they drilled – deeper, and deeper.  Finally, they decided there was no water there – we must choose a different location.  They drilled the second well during a somewhat rainy October.  At last!  We had a new well! July, 2020 brought us stinky, smelly water with a blackish discoloration.  It was most unpleasant.  We had an analysis

How To Share

Let Your Light Shine Grannies, I have told you no specific suggestions regarding initiating a conversation about Jesus. I found this suggestion from E. Stanley Jones in Victorious Living, during my God Time on September 26.  “Jesus began at the place of [the person’s] dominant interest…Try to find the dominant interest in people and lead them along the line of that dominant interest.  Is a youth’s interest in athletics?  Talk about a strong body, and the necessity of purity if that body is to be strong, and the dynamic in Christ to keep one pure.  Are parents wrapped up in their children?  Then the suggestion is simple:  They want to give the children the best, but they cannot do it unless they have it themselves.” What do you do if your loved one refuses to engage in that conversation?  Mr. Jones said, “If they should snub you?  What of it?

Vote The Gospel

It’s The Future of Our Country & Your Family I grew up in ultra conservative Hillsdale, Michigan – home of the esteemed Hillsdale College. Back in June, I wrote to you about my esteemed High School English teacher, Mr. Ketrow.  He made everything interesting for me but I continue to value this lesson: Be aware of the propaganda promoted by politicians and media as though it were fact!  Think about it!!   (He was ahead of his time – “Fake News”.)  Are you following the news on One America News or Newsmax Channels? Do you know that it has been proven that the Obama Administration used taxpayer money to oust Netanyahu in Israel’s 2016 election!  All that, while they falsely claimed that Trump used a Russia connection to win OUR election!! In June, I told you about “My Hero”, Ronnie Reagan, and his stand on major issues.  Here is President Reagan’s

Jesus IN Jesus Out

Share Him Freely Joyce Meyer tells a story of a woman who spoke to her at a conference several years ago. The woman’s story was that she thought that Joyce had lost her anointing — the woman was getting nothing from the teachings of Joyce!  When the woman prayed about it, Holy Spirit told her that she was too full.  She had taken in many of Joyce’s teachings, and many lessons on God’s Word, but she had not given out any of them — she had not shared.  God told her that she had to give in order to get. Joyce has a similar story about her own life — a time when God told her to share His Word more. I was reminded of these stories on September 23, while reading the lesson in Streams InThe Desert Devotional, page 361. “If you will give the blessing you have received,

Find Peace With The Lord All of my numbers were perfect!  Get this – my oxygen was at 100!!  Now THAT’s perfect!  Not bad for me at 73!! Remember, in 2010 I nearly died from an oxygen level in the 60s!  Woo! Hoo!  I’m as good as new!! There is LIFE in LOVING Our LORD!! You don’t have to change; you will WANT to change. Carry out God’s Guidance with pleasure and peace. Officers of my Toastmaster Club are discussing, via email, how to meet for our Officer Meeting — yes, HOW  —  In person or online.  I panicked — but I didn’t know why!  Yes, I DID — things weren’t going MY way.  I was watching Joyce Meyer — it was my God Time!  I should address this issue! I turned off the TV and called our Club President.  Forty-five minutes later each of us had cried a bit,

Go For It, Grannie!

This Purpose is For You!Tell Them About Him! “God has a purpose to make you the best that you can be. God has a plan that embodies that purpose.  God has a plan for every life.  The next step is for you to be the person for carrying out that purpose and that plan.”  E. Stanley Jones, Abundant Living, pg 253  If you’re reading this, you’re looking for ways to talk with your young people about Jesus – you want them to get to know Jesus. Through these Scriptures from Jeremiah Ch 1, you will learn that you are empowered by God to speak The Truth of your heart – The Truth is Jesus. As I read these, it seems like God is speaking to me.  He is speaking to you, too! “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;    I
