Victim or Victory

From Challenge to Opportunity During this Covid Craziness, Pastor Paul Daugherty has been delivering some thought-provoking, inspiring, and comforting messages.  His enthusiasm ignites my spirit! Paul Daugherty is Pastor of Victory Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His service is televised on the Hillsong channel on Saturday. He has been coaching us about fear throughout this pandemic. Here are some excerpts from his message (televised 9/5), along with the Scripture he used. “FEAR – the belief in something that hasn’t happened yet.” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.  Matt 8:26  “Fear is just like a virus – it sucks the life out and goes from person to person.” “The Enemy uses relationships to deplete our energy, to stir up our fear.”  “Attack It!  Talk Back to Fear!” You say “What if…(bad

Grow In Toast

Toastmasters Where Leaders Are Made! Toastmaster founder, Dr. Ralph Smedley, once said, “Inside each of us is a treasure, just waiting to be discovered.”  For the past 96 years, millions of people have been proving him correct — yours truly, included. As soon as I finished my first ten Toastmaster speeches and “graduated” in 2001, I had business cards professionally designed and printed.  I was going to be a motivational speaker!  I was so excited! I ordered a subscription to National Speaker Association magazine.  I was “shooting for the stars”. After reading a few articles in the NSA magazine, and participating in a few speech contests, I realized…it would be many moons before I would even be asked to speak for free! While looking for something on the next level, I decided — I have A LOT to say!  I am going to BLOG!!  I know I can write.  Mind

1 Nation Under God

That’s Our Pledge of Allegiance to Our Flag “One Nation Under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for ALL.” Under God was added to the pledge in 1954*.  In God We Trust was adopted as the official motto of our country in 1956. In the 1950s our nation was recuperating from a hard-fought war.  Many of the soldiers coming home, including my dad, had witnessed the mercy, grace, and power of God.  Our country was proud to be a Christian Nation. Our country was founded on a political statement.  Men of FAITH decided to seek an option other than “serving the King of England”.  They wanted to serveThe One True King – The Lord God Almighty. Every document they wrote was political!  We escaped the service of the King of England and when he tried to keep us under his reign at a distance, we said, “NO WAY!” The “separation

Vote For God!

I CAN NO LONGER HOLD BACK! I’m tired of “keeping quiet” in order not to offend those who do not believe.  I WAS like that twenty years ago.  I know it’s uncomfortable when someone starts “talking GOD”. Those non-believers have gone too far.  They can swear and I’m supposed to accept it, but they don’t want me to pray!  NO MORE SILENCE!  I’M SPEAKING OUT!!  I’M PROUD TO PROCLAIM — I VOTE FOR GOD! In the current election, I vote for those closest to love of GOD, closest to love of Country and closest to protecting Life — ALL LIFE — even the tiniest of souls. To answer all of those of you who would say “I can’t believe you would vote for Trump”, folks, listen up! I’m not just voting for him… I’m voting for the second Amendment. I’m voting for the next supreme court justice. I’m voting for

James R

At The Last Minute Grannies, as we talk about Jesus with our loved ones, we may encounter resistance. My brother, James R, younger by two years, was an interesting situation. Burdened with dyslexia and an injury that left him with only one eye — sight-impaired, he loved to read. That is thanks to our mother who spent hours with him as a pre-teen, teaching him phonics. It was a struggle, until one day our dad brought home some Classics Illustrated comic books (now in digital form). James R, called Jimmy at that age, “devoured” the stories of The Three Musketeers, Moby Dick, and Journey to the Center of The Earth. He wanted MORE!  He became a voracious reader!  As an adult, he demonstrated his intelligence, wisdom, and…his denial of The Most High God. As a young man, in his 20s and 30s, he was an atheist – there is no

ASK

Have Faith and Believe Life with Jesus begins by believing in Him and asking Him into your heart.  Such an “asking” is often called “The Sinners Prayer” or “The Prayer of Salvation”.  The Bible reveals no specific prayer for that purpose.  Jesus tells us to “Ask and You Will Receive”.  John 16:24 “As I read The Bible, Jesus sets me free from false teachings, enslaving thoughts, and limiting ideas.  With Jesus, the possibilities go far beyond what I can imagine.”  Marlene Legaspi-Munar, Mornings With Jesus, 8/18/20 While my previous message of 8/20 was posting, I was watching a Billy Graham event from 1993.  He gave me another prayer to pass on to you! “Lord, I have sinned.  I am sorry for my sins.  I am willing to change my way of life.  I come by faith.  I don’t understand it all, but by faith I receive You as my Lord,

Jesus Because…

Lord, You Are My Everything! We often hear the phrase, “He’s in a better place.” when someone loses a loved one. Really?  Did he believe in Jesus?  Was Jesus his savior? Jesus is the only Ticket!  You can’t get to Heaven without Him! It is so easy to begin a relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ. When we ask Him into our hearts, He will come.  We receive Him, and He will live in us. “Oh no!  I don’t want to change!  I don’t want to live like that!” You don’t have to change because you will want to change. It will happen – sometimes a “pop” at first – you feel something different. Gradually, over time, your thoughts and attitudes will change, your hopes and dreams will change, and so will everything in between – gradually.  It feels GOOD! Grannies, guide your young ones to Christ Jesus. Encourage them to “give

Growing Up

In Jesus, In His Word How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. Psalm 119:9 It was the summer of 1965. I graduated June 10. College would start August 23. I had never been away from home for more than a summer’s week at Grandma’s. My days were spent planning and preparing for “life on my own.” There was a lot of talk about “the world out there”. I remember my mother saying in her sharp, scolding voice, “If you get pregnant, don’t bother to come home!” That had a reality to it that I had never felt before – not wanted by my mother!?!?! Why would she say that to me anyway?  I had one disastrous date during high school.  No boy wanted me so far.  What kind of a world is it out there???  Now my mother doesn’t want

Why Jesus?

JESUS—THEN, NOW, FOREVERMORE! Ours is a Christian nation, founded on the Christian Bible by men who believed in the Wisdom, the Power, and the Holiness of The Most High God – Three in One – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Growing up in the 1950s HE was fully accepted – In God We Trust!  No questions!  No doubts!  God The Father Almighty is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Christmas celebrates The Birth of Jesus Christ, Our Savior.  Easter is the celebration of His Resurrection – Our Risen Lord LIVES!!  Hallelujah! Those  who believed, allowed those who doubted to speak up.  They have the right to their opinion.  When their denials and accusations became vicious, we shied away.  They’re harmless.  Let them have their say. Now they have nearly taken over!  They have indoctrinated our youth with Darwin’s theory and the pagan view of our country; they’re rewriting our

One Day Can Change Your Heart Hello friend. How do you fertilize the Seeds that are planted and growing in you?  Be sure you spend Daily Time With God.  Be excited to learn more!  Stop, Look, & Listen!  Keep the bubbles in your belly!  Keep the glow on your face. Keep yourself “Full of The Word”. Outside sources can steer you to topics/places/lessons that you “never knew”. Sometimes it’s obvious that Holy Spirit is speaking to you — everyone has a different perspective on the same topic.  It’s exciting how you’ll find a special message when you least expect it.  Here’s what He blessed me with one day in June. I don’t recall what was going on in my life, but that day, at that hour, this was a BIG HUG for me! Just what I needed. JESUS LIVES!!  OUR GOD IS ALIVE!! The Resurrection of Christ is the whole
